WARNING ! The Classic's USB port is NOT isolated from
battery negative. This is typically only an issue on
positive ground systems or systems with a tripped ground
fault protection device. Care must be taken that a
computer connected to the Classic's USB port is either
isolated from ground and the Classic's negative or that the
computer's USB negative is common with the Classic's
negative.

INSTALLATION MESSAGES.......
(windows)
If the error message, "usbser.sys is not a valid windows image"
should appear, ignore this and continue. The file will actually
be install. Running the uninst.exe uninstaller program in
the default update directory (c:\midnitesolar) BEFORE running
the downloaded MidNite Update installer exe file will stop this
error from occuring.

Some times the message, "windows needs to be restarted" message
is displayed after insallation, but it normally can also be ignored.

The Classic requires a USB connection to a PC with USB Host
capability. Windows NT, XP, Vista, Windows 7 32 bit,
Windows 7 64 bit and Windows 8 are currently supported.
Windows 7 is not as good as Windows 8 is but Windows 8 is
presently a pain to get to install the drivers.

(Mac OS X and Linux)
Mac and Linux can also be used to update the Classic and its MNGP
Remote using Python. Check the README_Python.txt file for
further information.

(General)
Please check the latest Classic Controller user manual on
the MidNite Solar website for complete instructions.

www.midnitesolar.com under user manuals.

There is also an instructional video for updating the firmware
on the MidNite Solar website.

Thanks.
